White Sale’s last ability is a text-changing continuous effect that modifies mana costs directly. As well as changing the mana paid to cast spells, the converted mana cost of any spell on the stack will also be equal to the installed result.

White Sale changes each spell’s mana cost to only generic mana. This usually means that all spells are colorless unless they have a color indicator or characteristic-defining ability.

White Sale’s last ability only changes mana costs; additional or alternative costs are not affected.

White Sale’s last ability only applies to cards or spell copies on the stack. Mana costs remain the same in all other zones.

Results installed on objects are treated as markers, but not counters. Mechanics that interact with counters do not affect installed results.

Like counters, all installed results generally cease to exist if the object they’re on moves from one zone to another.

Enchantment
When White Sale comes into play, roll a six-sided die. All spells have a mana cost of {X}, where X is the die roll, instead of their normal mana costs.

Mana costs being set to {X} was replaced with “an amount of generic mana” to avoid confusion about interactions with cards that already have {X} in their mana cost, like Fireball.
