UnCommander Rulings

If a card is discarded from a cycling ability, if it has a madness keyword ability it will be discarded to exile as normal, where its owner may cast it for its madness cost or put it into their graveyard.

When casting a spell for its madness cost, additional costs, such as buyback and kicker costs, are paid as normal.

If this card is cast from the graveyard for a flashback cost, and its buyback cost is paid, flashback’s replacement effect will put the spell into exile before buyback’s replacement effect takes effect. (Flashback’s replacement effect is “exile this card instead of putting it anywhere else any time it would leave the stack”, while buyback’s replacement effect is “put this spell into its owner’s hand instead of into that player’s graveyard as it resolves.”.
