Enchant instant or sorcery spell on the stack

When Animate Spell enters the battlefield, if it’s on the battlefield, it loses “enchant instant or sorcery spell on the stack” and gains “enchant permanent put onto the battlefield with Animate Spell.” Enchanted object is a creature in addition to its other types with power and toughness each equal to its converted mana cost. Put enchanted object onto the battlefield under its owner’s control and attach Animate Spell to it.

if Animate Spell would leave the battlefield, the permanent it enchants becomes a creature in addition to its other types. (This effect lasts indefinitely, but usually only until Animate Spell’s last printed triggered ability resolves.)

When Animate Spell leaves the battlefield, Enchanted permanent’s owner may cast it from the battlefield. If they don’t, its controller sacrifices it.

UnCommander Rulings

Animate Spell can also enchant instant or sorcery spells on the stack that have other card types, such as Lightning Colt, an instant creature.

For details on instants and sorceries with permanent types, see Permanent Types With Other Card Types on the UnCommander Rules List.

Animate Spell can enchant an instant or sorcery spell copy on the stack, but a copy of a spell that is not represented by a card will usually cease to exist as a state-based action, see 706.10a in the official Comprehensive Rules.

An ability was added in errata to keep the enchanted instant or sorcery a creature until Animate Spell’s leaves the battlefield triggered ability can resolve. Otherwise, as soon as Animate spell stops being attached to the instant or sorcery, the instant or sorcery is no longer a creature, and will be put into the graveyard first as a state-based action due to being an instant or sorcery on the battlefield with no permanent types.

Animate Dead, unsurprisingly, as a similar card, was used as template.
