Decided to go with the ‘sacrifice’ intepretation of the old ‘Bury’ mechanic as we felt it more closely mimicked the intended effect of the card.

It’s unclear what abilities the Phagropod tokens have and what is a static effect from the Phagropod card. Here, every ability beyond the ‘treat these’ section is considered a static ability from the Phagropod card.

There isn’t a source for the damage dealt to the owners of the Phagropod tokens on the original card, in this interpretation the Phagropod card is the source for the damage.
